3D printed chuck mechanism
An example of 3D printing of a chuck mechanism.
Usually a special device is uswd to fix a detail for processing at a turning lathe. This device is a chuck mechanism. We've printed a sample (prototype) of such a chuck.
The most popular type is a three-jawed mechanical chuck. Conventionally such chunks are used for processing of axially symmetrical details (which are solids of rotation), as this type gives to fix and center such details with ease. Catching of a workpiece for processing is realized by dint of jaws. In case of processing of a complicated form detail four-jawed chucks are used.
